I am running around like crazy lately and I need to just slow down life. I keep saying I need another day, but I would just fill it with fluff as well. We have been doing a lot of fun things, but I really need to do things like shop for food sometimes as well. I wanted to take a picture of my empty fridge yesterday before I went shopping, but really, didn't take the time. It was very bare. but I made the time to go get fruits and veggies, I just need to go to a bigger store for the rest of the things we eat as well. okay, im in a hurry, but I wanted to post a few cute things from yesterday.
I was rushing to get ready and already running late as Brelee and Nate started to freak out that there was a bee in the house. I said no, it must be a fly, and Nate said, "NO MOM! it has 2 legs and stripes and 2 whisker things coming out of it's head!" I decided I had better check out these whisker things :) and found a little striped (but obviously scary) cricket.
The A/C on the van went out, so I took the three little kiddos, a DVD player, a DS, a stroller and front pack, and we hung out at the mechanic for 3 hours. We took a break in the middle and walked to the dollar store to get crackers and gatorade and walk back, it took 40 minutes but was just what we needed.
Twice this week I chose to go to recess with Travis and Wesly. I originally went 2 weeks ago to talk to the aid and find out what really goes on at recess. I wasn't liking what I heard from my boys and wanted to see for myself. Well, turns out there is usually one aid and 120 or so kids at recess. It is only 15 minutes long, but a lot can happen. So, I am helping them find more things to do and brought a soccer ball and some cones and we have bumble bee soccer (not on purpose). I am thinking of getting more cones or some long ropes to see if we can bring the game in a little closer then running all over the place.
I have been filling my days up with fun things, taking the kids to the bus stop and back and taking the littler kids to joy school and back and we have small intervals for chores in there, however, I know I could do better and find the BEST things to do. not just good things. I wanted to sign the boys up for soccer this season, but turns out it is probably good to have them home one more year while Mom figures out how to manage things better. :)
Todays is Chris' birthday. Happy birthday babe! I love you!!!!!!! We are off to go get the rest of the real food we need at home and ingredients for a carrot cake he requested . He is super nice to share his day with me and come to my soccer game to cheer me on tonight.
We are both training for races right now. I am running 3 times a week and he just started his 4 days a week training for his bike race in nov. soccer is just starting this week and I might be really tired for my 5 mile run in the morning, but I told a friend that soccer is my pay off for running without the ball all week!! It is amazing how much more fun soccer is when I have been running and I feel good on the field instead of sluggish. It is a reward for sure. Last season I scored 3 times and I hadn't scored that many times in I don't know how many seasons combined!! a long time! So I am excited for this season too.
I am teaching a class tomorrow on how to bring your children closer to Christ. I have a million things to do to finish getting ready AND my peaches and pears for canning showed up yesterday. awesome. except the peaches are less than awesome tasting this year :( super bummed. clearly I am procrastinating getting any of the above done, however, I feel a little better to after venting AND I did get a shower already today, so BONUS!!!
shopping...make cake...dont go crazy...finish lesson handouts...Breathe!
hope your day is amazing, did you start it off with a prayer??? cause I know that's the only thing that will help me get through today alive!!!!
