Questions...

On Monday we were driving home from doing some shopping and one of the things we bought was some orange juice. Wesly asked, "what does orange mean?" I said it can mean either the color orange, or it can mean the fruit orange. I showed him the orange juice box and pointed to the color orange, and then to a picture of an orange. I tried to explain it a few different ways and he kept saying, No! what does OooraAAAANNNNGe mean?, as if exaggerating the word would help. :)
I tried to explain again, although I knew he already knew those two uses of the word. Then he said, "No, what does orange mean on the lights?" and he pointed to the stop lights in front of us.
We always tell him that green MEANS go, and red MEANS stop. So he saw the ORANGE light and wanted to know what it meant. He didn't really agree when I tried to tell him it was yellow. :)

Travis started to play a game with me, all because of a book we borrowed from my Mom. You will know what book it is by the game we play.
To start the game, Travis comes to me and says, "Are you a cow?"
I say, "No, am I a chicken?"
Travis, "No."
Me, "Am I a dog?"
Travis, "No."
A bird? No. A plane? No. A boat? No. A snort? No.
Travis will end the game at any time saying...."You're my MOTHER!"

If you haven't read "Are you My Mother?" by P.D Eastman (not Dr. Seuss) ;). You should read it. It was one of my favorites growing up!

So if you ever hear Travis ask me if I am a cow...he really isn't being rude. :)

Too fun...

For what it is worth, sister, that book is not by Dr. Seuss, but P.D. Eastman, as clearly displayed on the front of the book in big yellow letters in the picture you posted. He also did "Go Dog Go," among others. The cat-in-the-hat on the book spine is just Random House branding.

Erin had the baby so I am coming down the end of June. I hope we can get together but with eight kids between me and her I am sure we will want to try and do it maybe at the zoo or her house....the other zoo. :)

Okay, so I knew it wasn't by Dr. Seuss, and I thought...I should look it up. But I didn't even think about looking at the HUGE letters on the pic I posted. :) Sorry, I know it is clearly something I wouldn't want someone to get my name wrong about. So I'll change it. :)

Heather, I would love to meet up with you guys, the zoo would be perfect...or whatever works best for you and Erin! CONGRATS TO THEM!

Very Cute stories. I think the Dr Seuss mix up is fairly common, it looks like a Dr. Seuss book. You gave that book to Thais for her birthday..we love it too!
