Nathan loves the stairs...

Nathan goes up the stairs first chance he gets. I never put a gate by the stairs for Travis, he just learned to go up and down quickly. Nathan learned to go up the stairs very quickly but will have nothing to do with going down. He sits at the top and hollers at me for my attention, then he turns and crawls for the boys' room. He always comes right back and hollers at me again, almost teasing that he is going to dive head first off the steps. Wesly does a good job letting me know when Nate is ready to come down if he is up stairs playing with them...but one of these times he is going to learn a rough lesson. Hopefully he will learn to go down before this happens. What a tease!

Hurry before Mom catches me!
Don't worry Mom, I'll be careful!
These stairs are way too high for times like these. And the tile at the bottom doesn't help. Let's just say I started putting the gate at the bottom to keep him downstairs.

Before I became a mom, stairs never bothered me. However, now when I see my little toddlers running up and down the steps, I get a little nervous pit in my stomach. :) It's a stressful, but necessary, skill for the kids to learn. :)

Aahhh! We had stairs just like these in our first house. Christian and Isabelle survived so I am sure your guy will too!! Eventually they do learn!! I remember my kids always sitting on their bums and sliding down.
