I was thinking about adding a section to side bar about things that Wesly says. I just think it would get so long that I need to just post it everytime. So bare with me....but here are several of our converasations over the last week or so...for my own record, so enjoy or just skip it!
This morning we took Chris to the bus stop about 5:30 am. Before we left, Wesly is sitting on the couch barely awake and he asks me:
"Mom, why does the word 'rain forest' have the word 'rain'?"
Always thinking, that boy!
The last time we dropped Chris off Wesly saw the sign for -Goodwill-. He looked at it and said, "Mom, that almost says, I am a Child of God. See? It has a 'G' and a 'O' in it."
This morning he says "Mom, see that sign? It almost says God. See? 'G' and 'O'!"
The last few days we have been talking a lot about death. I am positive it is because we just read in the scriptures the story about King Noah and Abinadi. Abinadi was tied up and burned to death. We were driving in the car and Wesly says:
W: "Mom, what happens when we die?"
Me: "You go to Heaven."
W: "Then I want to die, so I can see Heavenly Father."
M: uh...... "I would really miss you."
W: "Then you and Dad could die too, and you can see Heavenly Father with me."
The conversation went on and on about spirits and bodies, why we came to earth, etc... I am glad to say he is content to stay.
Wesly asked me this week what happens when a Plane dies.
Me: "Well, if it is on the ground then the mechanic will try to fix it, but it won't go anywhere until it is fixed. If it is in the air then it could be a really bad thing and it could crash and people could get hurt. "
W: "What happens when a car dies?"
Me: "Well none of the buttons would work"
W: "What if it is moving?"
Me: "Well, it could get in an accident."
For all of these seperate conversations Travis has been present. He has never said much in their relation...until the other day. He was throwing an absolute hissy fit because I made him wear pants (he insists on only wearing short sleeves and shorts). I had to force him into his car seat and as we pulled out of the driveway he was almost out of his carseat already (slipping his arms through the straps). I pulled over and had a talk with him about how his seat is to keep him safe and if we were to get in an accident how he could get hurt.
The next day we were going somewhere with Chris. Travis was pitching another fit about wearing pants to go somewhere and as we pulled out of the driveway he started yelling. "I don't want to die! I don't want to die!" Chris was VERY confused and after we pulled over so I could fix Travis' car seat straps, I had to explain our conversations and how I think Travis understands the importance of wearing his seatbelt now, even though I never told him he would die if he didn't wear it.
