Last night Wesly was talking with Chris about "when he is 12." Chris has mentioned to Wesly in the past that when Wesly is 12 he can be in charge and babysit while Mom and Dad go out on a date. They talked about Wesly serving cold cereal for dinner, and maybe toast. Chris jokingly added last night, that Wesly has to work hard to earn his rent money when he is 12 as well. He explained that rent is paying for a place to sleep and he has to earn it.
Wesly told us that when he is 12 he will drive, no, walk, around town and find the cheapest place to rent. Then we can call him and ask if he is available to babysit.
(UM NO! )
***edited*** I wanted to add another comment I remembered while talking with a friend today. Chris told Wesly that when Chris was 12, he chopped weeds in the cotton fields to earn money and maybe the farmers that live by us could pay Wesly to do the same thing. Wesly quickly responded, "We have machines that do that now Dad!"
(sheesh, as if we were old dinosaurs and had no clue!)
:) He makes us laugh.
Last night we also made cupcakes. Nathan chose green frosting. He tells me, "Mom, I love green. I love green when I am dead. I love green right now and I love it all the time."
(...When you are dead?)
Brelee loves to sing. Last Monday for FHE we interviewed Grandma Carbonneau and Brelee asked if she could sing her a song. Brelee started to sing 'Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam' and somehow, she turned it into a NEVER ENDING song. You really had to be there, but I was almost in tears laughing as she just kept singing the song over and over but never having an ending. Her favorite song is 'I Love to see the Temple' and she is always singing that as well. However lately, she has been singing the end of 'Book of Mormon Stories'. I like the way she changed the end. Instead of saying the line "Given this land, if they live, righteously." She says "given this land, if they live, just like me." I hate to correct her, it is just too cute! :)
I feel like I need to post something about Travis too! He is a handful, but we love him. He is constantly inventing things. In his gifted class at school they always start off with a time to chat and talk about your week and say how you feel. A conversation started about how he had made a store in his sisters room. (He had made signs and was selling all sorts of real and imaginary things to his siblings.) Before long the whole class wanted to make a store so the teacher let them make a book about what they would sell and do at Travis' store. It was a hit!
