February 26th TRAVIS' Birthday

HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY TO TRAVIS!

We were in the Phoenix area to volunteer at the Ragnar Relay Race Feb 25th, so we stayed and had Travis' birthday party with family the next day.

What a better way to wake up on your birthday than to STAR WARS pancakes!?!

My little helpers
It isn't as easy as it looks, but with some practice we got them to turn out just right!

Nathan couldn't wait to decorate the cookies, so I let him decorate a few before we got to the park...don't worry, I scraped MOST of the frosting off before I let him eat it. He was having fun decorating, I couldn't stop him. :)

After breakfast we headed over to Arrowhead mall. They have a LEGO store there, and my camera battery died right after this only shot of Trav building LEGOs. Let's just say the kids had a blast. It is a neat little store and he got to spend some birthday money there, he was in heaven.

We really like this park off of Thunderbird and the 101, it always seems crowded but is huge and has great amenities. We lucked out and even got a spot at the ramada and the clouds looked like it would rain, but just kept it cool.

We were lucky to have my siblings Liz, and Kenny with their families, my sister Brittany, Chris' brother Steven, Chris' parents, and Gigi and Grandpa Collamer, all come to enjoy some cake and ice cream and frost cookies at the park.

If you haven't noticed, Travis is a Star Wars addict. He was disappointed I didn't frost a character on the cake...uh..sorry buddy.
It was pretty windy by the time we had cake and those candles just wouldn't stay lit! So Trav blew out the match right after Dad lit it off the box. :)

We love cousins!
Decorating STAR WARS COOKIES.

I really wanted him to have lots of Star Wars and Legos for his birthday. He made a wish list and of 15 items, ALL of them said LEGO, STAR WARS, or LEGO STAR WARS.
Thankfully we have some awesome friends that hooked us up with Star Wars shaped cookies cutters AND Star Wars shaped pancake molds!

Audrey and Wesly

Audrey took pictures of the ducks at the pond and loved watching them, so we got a picture of her with them.
Gigi and G'pa Collamer

Back at Grandma Carbonneau's house, Daddy showing the boys the instructions for the new LEGO kit.
Back at home Travis putting together another kit all on his own! He is really good at following the instructions and knowing just what to do.

I LOVE IT! he is so much like drew it's crazy! I'm actually about to order those cookie cutters too to have for drew's birthday in May! I want to get both those and the pancakes, but i think todd would kill me if i spent that much on star wars stuff that you eat, but i think it's sooo much fun! great job kati! it looks like he had a great birthday!

Still haven't let Tucker get sucked into the legos. How do you do it without legos everywhere? Tucker has however has gotten a much stronger love for those star wars guys after being with the boys last year :)

Thanks Staci, if you buy cookie cutters this year and then get the pancake molds next year...that would lesson the blow, right? :) I want them both too! there are also cookie cutters of some vehicles, that would be fun too!
Rachel, I know a lot of people that leave the legos out or let them play with them anywhere and I don't know how they keep them from getting spread. I keep ours on the fridge for now, and they play with them on the kitchen table and they have to put them away every time. There are almost to many to keep on the fridge, but I don't have another plan to keep them cleaned up just yet! :) We need to hang out with Tucker again soon, he's a fun friend!
