"Where are we going Mom?" "Crazy, wanna come?"

Today. Just thought I should record it.

Today was a good day.

I woke up to Wesly (who, earlier in the night, had found a spot on my floor to claim as his own) asking me a question, surely about when Dad would be going to work so he could take his spot on the bed. Shortly after Travis was yelling for me and told me he bonked his head on the bunk bed, so I cuddled up next to him and waited for him to go back to sleep. Then Wesly came in after I dozed off in their bed and he had had an accident, in my room, so we cleaned that up.

Somehow I got him to go into his own bed, and I was very tempted to get into my own. Chris decided to sleep through the alarm today (didn't care to catch the bus) and I suddenly remembered I had to take the pregnancy glucose test before Friday. So I figured I should go this morning while the car was still here, and Chris could go into work a little late.

I had to fast for the blood test, not easy for me, and so I rushed to get to the Lab as it opened. You have to show up at the office, drink a funky tasting 10 oz bottle of something, and then sit and wait one hour before they take your blood.
This particular lab is in an area like Sun City; Oro Valley. Oro Valley is full of the elderly, and they were all very nice this morning. :) (I wasn't in their way like I am at the grocery store I guess.) I brought my Joy School lessons that I get to teach next week and cut out all of the visual aids and handouts while I waited for my turn. I got a lot of questions about that and heard fun stories about cute grandkids. The drink didn't taste so bad and the blood draw was fast and easy. I used to dread needles and whatnot, but after 3 kids, I guess it is old hat.

Anyhow, as yuck as that morning seems, I love to feel accomplished, and I got my lessons finished, got the test over and I even showered before I left the house (that is QUITE the accomplishment) ;)
Chris had the boys fed by the time I got home and we were in for an uneventful day. (I wanted to take the kids to the Air and Space Museum after dropping Chris at work, but he didn't want me to have to come back and get him later, so he just took the car) Wesly and Travis played together ALL DAY LONG. They played Ninja Turtles, Super Heros, Dinosaurs, Birds, etc.. I turned on Cars at one point that they had their cars out, and they didn't even watch it. They just played and apparently liked it in the background.
Nathan is slowly trying to fit in with the big boys, but Wes and Travis are quite the built in friends pair lately. I was thoroughly impressed with their imaginations today.

Nathan, took an extra long nap this afternoon. He has been taking two naps still, and I think he is trying to decide if he likes mornings or afternoons better. Today he crawled in my lap about 2 pm and just passed out. He woke up cranky about 3 and I put him back in bed to get over himself, and he slept until about 5pm!!! We'll see how tonight goes, he didn't really cry to long when we put him in bed just after 8, so we shall see. (he didn't even bang his head on the crib too many times, he has become quite the temper tantrum king lately!! Poor kid needs a helmet)

I got a lot of random things done today. I researched some food storage ideas and I decided that my linens could go under our bathroom sinks and I can turn my linen closet upstairs into my food storage unit. I don't know why I was so impressed with the idea, but I have really been racking my brains on where to put all this stuff and keep it/GET IT organized!
I also started some recipe organizing to put together a super exel spreadsheet of a 3 month food supply. We made a list of typical meals we eat in a month and then you have to put in the ingredients needed and it multiplies it by 3 and does some other crazy stuff and WA-LA! you know what you have and need...
Then I got a few things checked off on our family emergency plan. Example, none of my kids have ever gotten birth certificates...so we filled out the paperwork and it is ready to mail tomorrow. :) only 4 years later...
Eventually I made my way to grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for dinner while Chris took the older boys in the jogging stroller on his run. I even hard boiled some eggs for a salad for Chris.
For family home evening tonight Wesly quickly memorized the Third Article of Faith song and Travis didn't do too bad himself.

Then we went through the nightly routine and put the kiddos in bed by only about a half hour late.

WHICH REMINDS ME! Last week we got some fun news...I should write a blog about our new best friends. FLOSS and TOOTHBRUSH!

Glad to hear someone had a good day yesterday. Mine was the exact opposite of yours. Everything went wrong. It even SNOWED! I really want to get our little trouble makers together cause it sounds like they are two peas in a pod!

The air and space museum sounds fun and I've been wanting to take Miles there for a while. Sounds like Wes is doing great with articles of faith.
