Wesly has never slept consistently through the night. For him to come into my room 3 times in one night is very common, almost nightly. I get up, walk him back to his bed and usually get him a drink. Sometimes he in unconsolible (sp?) with nighttares (sp?) and crying and not really awake at all.
Last night I think he slept through the night and woke up announcing he had good dreams, no bad ones...but the night before went like this:
11:58 pm First time up, we walked back to his bed, he asked for a drink, I got him one, said goodnight.
2:33ish am Second time up, walked him back to his bed, I think I got him a drink, and said goodnight again.
4:57am (3 min before alarm goes off) :( Third time, I hear him running down the hall, blast my door open, comes to my side and says "Mom, I had a dream that my leg got broken off!" He tells me something about his pillow, (a long time ago I told him he could turn his pillow over and the bad dreams can fall out and good ones are on the new side (worked for me when I was little)), and he said he wanted to say a prayer too. So we turned over his pillow and patted it nice and good and said a prayer to have no more bad dreams.
This kid has one wild imagination.
Chris said he doesn't blame him, a few nights before that I walked Wesly into his room for a second time and noticed a light on down stairs that hadn't been on the first time I took him back to bed. I laid down by Wesly and continued to freak out about what might have woken Wesly up and who could be in my house, etc...I finally got the courage up to go back to my own bed and ask Chris to go down stairsto see what was going on. Nathan had unplugged our timer on our lizard's light the day before and it reset the clock, the lizard's light had turned on in the middle of the night.
Chris is very nice and doesn't watch any CSI shows or anything I could twist in my mind and dream about crazy things, cause I will. Lost is as scary as it gets for me, and I still have bad dreams about that.
Wesly is on another level from me. Dora was running from some crabs on a beach in an episode we checked out from the library. The next day Travis and Wesly are riding on our rocking horse saying WATCH OUT FOR THE CRABS! AHHH HE GOT THE HORSE'S EAR!! WATCH OUT!!
I can imagiune he woke up running from crabs the other night too!
anyhow, just something I was thinking about this morning.

I'm glad you made it back safely -- and no worries about the arch confusion. :)
Nightmares are the worst! Sometimes I hear Jayce whimpering as he sleeps from his room, and I wonder what he's possibly thinking about. These poor kids with their active imaginations . . . imagination is great until you need to get to sleep and unpleasant ideas creep in. Hope he sleeps better! I've given up on good sleep since the kids have been born. :)
I don't usually have nightmares, but I can't stand being in a dark room with uncovered windows. I always feel like someone is going to show up and break in. If it's covered, though, I don't get nearly as nervous. Also, I don't like being the one to turn out the lights at night. Especially in mom and dad's house, I get nervous about turning corners and walk much faster as things get dark behind me. I makes me apprecite there being multiple switches for each light!(And yes, I remember why they were put in that way.)
And I thought Addi was the only kid that woke up all night long. She has nightmares all the time and is always waking up crying. It is very sad!
That is so funny! I am the same way. Jorge always blames the kids fear of dumb things on me. Is it really my fault that I scream like a baby everytime I see a spider?!? I really have tried to be less dramatic because our oldest Aaron has frequent nightmares. It is really quite sad. I feel for these little kids. If you find something that works let me know and I will try it out on Aaron!
Thats so funny, and sad at the same time. At least you husband will get up and check things out for you. Its always me at my house, cuz my husband doesnt care enough to. No lie though, each time we have found out we were pregnant, weird stuff would start to happen around the house. Coincidence? Dont know....but since we have found out we are pregnant again, our entertainment center light has come on in the middle of the night by itself (no timer). And 2 of allies toys just randomly went off making noise for no reason. I think someone is rejoicing or excited to come or something? Who knows ... my ramblings have created a long post. Hopefully your son will stop having bad dreams. I know my grandma says that whenever she forgets to say her prayers at night, she has really bad nightmares. Good luck!
I am convinced Thais has woken up from bad dreams but she doesn't know how to articulate them yet... Kids really do have such crazy imaginations!
I am so glad someone elses boys watch Dora. Daniel gets upset that Tucker loves Dora and Boots. I've tried to switch him over to Diego but it just doesn't hold the same charm for him.
We had a hard time with Bailee when she was little and she had night terrors- different than nightmares. They don't wake up during them and get really aggitated when you try to help them. It stinks- give me a call if you want more info.
